Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship

The Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) is calling on motorsport lovers of all kinds to start putting your teams together and register for the highly anticipated 2016/2017 Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship.

This immensely popular series is set to feature three exciting races, open to teams made up of karters aged 15 years old and above, both men and women. Entrants will be racing in identical 13hp Sodikarts provided for by BIKC, and the action will be held along its Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) track layout. 

The action begins with the first round on October 29, to be held at BIKC in Sakhir. It will be a three-hour race and interested karters will be able to field teams in various competition categories, including the Professionals, Nations and Corporates. Teams can have a minimum of two drivers and a maximum of three for the 3HR Rounds. The entry fee to participate in the race is BD260 per team. Round two, scheduled for December 3.

Genie and Ernie, brothers from Brooklyn, go to spend the summer with their Grandparents in rural Virginia. They’re in for a lot of changes. No cell phone reception, chores, and getting to know their grandparents who they only know from phone calls before. Ernie, the elder, is brave, confident, and cool. Genie is intellectual, perpetually anxious, and afraid. The biggest change is perhaps dealing with their grandfather, who is (to their surprise) totally blind, and perhaps a little crazy. But Genie quickly makes a close bond with his Grandfather, while Ernie is bonding with the pretty girl down the hill.

The plot explores fear and bravery, guilt and forgiveness. Every little element of the book has meaning. Jason Reynolds crafts a beautiful story, perfectly paced, with likable and believable characters.

MTC AUDITIONS

MTC is about to audition for a show proposed for March. This is a dark comedy for five male actors - and we are looking for some Irish accents!

The Seafarer

The Seafarer by Conor McPherson is an Irish ghost story-cum- modern day supernatural drama. When old friends gather to play poker on Christmas Eve, a mysterious stranger joins them. Instead of simply playing for money, he seems far more interested in playing for a man’s soul. 

Only men are needed for this dark and humorous play set in Ireland. An Irish accent is useful but not obligatory! Show goes on in mid-March. No previous acting experience necessary. Auditions will be coming up very soon.
