Fun, treats at Indonesian food festival

ManamaAl Areen Palace & Spa in collaboration with Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia will host an Indonesian Food Festival from October 14 to 21, 2016 at their Asian restaurant Keizo. 

The announcement was made at a press conference held in the presence of Chilman Arisman, Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain. 

“With the growing recognition of Indonesian cuisine in Bahrain, it is expected to have investors from Bahrain to open restaurants here. Al Areen Palace and Spa is a preferred holiday destination for people from the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. So these food festivals will not only target Bahrainis but also visitors from Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries,” Arisman said. 

Talking about the festival, General Manager, Pierre Vasseur said, “Al Areen Palace & Spa has three specialty restaurants at our property and Keizo our Asian cuisine restaurant will be the venue for this food festival.”

Indonesian dishes

The menu for the food festival, designed by Executive Sous Chef Janardan Das, will feature popular Indonesian dishes like Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang as main course and desserts like Fried Banana with Chocolate Dip & Es Cendol (Shaved ice with Rice Flour Dumpling). 

The restaurant will also feature some beverages that have been paired with the menu. 

With the guidance of the Indonesian Embassy, Keizo will be transformed into a venue that showcases elements of the archipelago of Indonesia, which is home to over 300 unique ethnic groups. 

Dance performance

As part of the food festival, there will be an Angklung performance (musical instrument made from Bamboo) and an Indonesian dance performance “Poco Poco” during the food festival week. 

The Food & Beverage Manager, Simon Gomes emphasized that, “All our guests can expect a true ambience of Indonesia, authenticity & originality in food and beverages with music and entertainment. We wish to give our guests the feeling of dining in the archipelago of Indonesia itself while they are in the synonymous venue of Keizo which is our island restaurant.”

Community day

As part of the week long festival, the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park which comes under the same umbrella of management as Al Areen Palace & Spa, will have an ‘Indonesian Community Day’ on the 15th of October where all Indonesian nationals in Bahrain will receive a 50% discount on the entry tickets.

October 14 to 21

The Indonesian Food Festival will be held from October 14 to 21 at Keizo from 7pm-11pm everyday for dinner. Al Areen Palace & Spa has partnered with EatApp as their table reservation partners and this will help guests book their tables conveniently. Guests will have the preference of choosing a set menu priced at BD12++ per person or they can opt for an a la carte menu.
