Bahraini detained further in girlfriend's murder case
Manama : A Bahraini man’s detention was renewed by 15 days, pending investigations in connection with the murder of his girlfriend. The girl was allegedly beaten to death by the 29-year-old man during an argument over drugs.
According to the case, the duo were living together and had been consuming drugs for nearly three years. On the day of the incident, the girl was asked to bring BD2,800 worth shabu from one of her friends, who was a drug dealer. Then they went together to meet her friend, who demanded money before delivering the drugs. But as soon as he handed over the money, his girlfriend and the dealer fled.
“After a few hours, my girlfriend returned with one gram of shabu. She was supposed to bring 30 grams as per the agreement. I slapped her twice and she fell down, motionless,” he stated.
The defendant, however, is suspected to have beaten up the woman with a plank. His mother confirmed hearing screams from his room before the woman was found dead.
The 26-year-old woman had been in jail earlier for aborting her baby and disposing the fetus. After her release, she continued her stay with the man.
