GPIC releases sustainability report
Manama : Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC) has released its 2016 Sustainability Report, which sets goals for achieving the United Nation’s 17 goals in ensuring a sustainable future.
In the report, Dr. Jawahery stressed the UN goals seek to promote growth as well as eradicate poverty and hunger in coordination with the relevant sectors and through strategies, programmes and initiatives.
He also pointed out that the 17 goals will form a global agenda for development in our communities and will allow leading companies to show off their ability in supporting sustainable development issues.
Further, he stressed that the company’s management has a new approach to providing sustainability reports to make it easier to follow its progress in achieving UN objectives, as well as empowering women.
He also mentioned that the report is a one-stop reference point and co-relates achievements of UN objectives and the company’s performance in sustainability.
