ManamaThe favourite Field Of Fame owned by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by British champion jockey Frankie Dettori won by a short head in the sixth and final race for HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup for imported three years and upwards over 2,400 metres and worth BD20,000 in the 20th meeting of the season yesterday at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised National Guard Commander Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa to attend His Majesty King Hamad Horseracing festival and Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship for Arabian Horses.

It was also attended by President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, dignitaries, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and horseracing enthisiasts. Shaikh Mohammed later honoured the winners.

Coming in second place was second favourite Proposed owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Adrie De Vries, while a length behind in third was Semeen owned by Mohammed A Rahman Al Jassmi, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Luke Morris, with Barreesh owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Ali Hassan a further length behind in fourth.

In the fifth race also for the HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred three year olds and upwards over 2,400 metres and worth BD20,000, the winner was outsider Hashaar owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Stephane Ladjadj.

Second place a neck behind went to favourite Methary Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, with third place two further lengths behind went second favourite Knight And Day owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle, while a further half a length behind was Rocket Boy owned by Fawzi Abdullah Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by British jockey Harry Bentley.

In the Cup for Shaikh Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) for maiden Arabian Horses three years and upwards over 1,400 metres and worth BD15,000 metres which featured international jockeys, the winner was Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1623 owned by Safra, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Alice Mills of Britain. Second place went to Krayann 1646 ridden by Catherine Fortune from Norway, third Al Rabda 1605 ridden by Rikke Munk Sorensen of Denmark and fourth the favourite Mlolshaan 1649 ridden by Laura Giesgen from Germany.
