Donkey wanders into mosque in Juffair
Manama: A donkey which was roaming on the streets of Juffair yesterday managed to enter the premises of Al Fateh Grand Mosque premises. However, the animal was caught before it could reach the mosque.
According to a Grand mosque official, the animal did not cause any inconvenience to worshipers although it was making loud noises.
“The donkey was making some loud noises. It was seen near the roundabout and close to the trees near the High Council For Islamic Affairs buildings,” said Al Fateh Grand Mosque tours and visits Coordinator Farahat AlKindy.
He added that the animal was taken away soon after the incident. “Some people arrived in a van and came to its aid,” he added.
Worshipers at the mosque did not seem bothered by the incident.
“I saw it outside the mosque premises when I was coming to the mosque. I did not know that it would manage to get in. I hope the animal is in safe hands now because it is quite dangerous for it to be wandering in the streets.” said Zakariya Rahman.
“I heard that it was seen on the road close to the vehicles. Lucky that it did not cause an accident,” said Kamal, another worshiper at the Grand mosque.
The incident also became discussion on online forums. According to a social media user, the animal was seen at the Juffair petrol station as well as near the American military houses.
A video of the donkey walking towards the mosque surfaced later in the day. Last week, two Ostriches were caught on the roads of Sehla by locals.
