Boat capsize: 2 killed

 Bodies of a German and Philipino nationals who had gone missing after drowning were found yesterday. Their boat had capsized on Friday near King Fahad Causeway.  

 According to the Acting Coast Guard Commander, as many as six people were onboard when their boat flipped over in the middle of the sea, near King Fahad Causeway on Friday noon. He said that they were reported at about 2.10 pm that a boat had sunk near the causeway.  

 The boat carried six individuals, a German father and three of his children, in addition to two Filipino nationals. The children of the German national and one Filipino national were rescued by the Vessels and Police Aviation. They are fine and in a stable condition.

 It was a long a tedious search that lasted till Saturday morning. He said that all the legal procedures were taken and the Public Prosecution had been notified.

The Coast Guard has advised all the seafarers to be careful while at sea and wear lifejackets while sailing and take all the precautionary measures to meet any emergencies.

 DT News contacted the German and the Philippine embassies but the embassy officials refused to give any information till tomorrow, as they do not possess the complete details regarding the incident.
