Manama: The families of Bahraini soldiers who died serving the country in Yemen are being provided with all the necessities, including pensions and houses, Abdullah bin Huwail, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security in Parliament, said.

A special office has also been set up for these families, he added.

He was speaking to DT News after the committee meeting yesterday, which was attended by committee members, officials of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) and the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

Huwail added that the BDF officials said they were doing their level best to take care of the families of the martyrs of Yemen.  The special office is looking after the families by providing them pensions in time and arranging housing for them from the Ministry of Housing.

“One of the soldiers did not have a Bahraini passport, but the special office arranged everything for his family,” he added. He also said that BDF people advised the families to contact the office for any help and assured them that their problems would be solved on priority basis.

He said they were fully satisfied with the answers and assurances of the BDF people.

Meanwhile, Defence Committee, had a detailed meeting with the BDF officials and they too were fully satisfied with their performance.

The Ministry of Interior officials also assured that they were looking after the families of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in Bahrain or got injured, he said. They also assured that the office would be open all the time.
