Students Turn Talent Into Impact
Three Bahrain students are drawing attention for achievements that go well beyond the classroom, from writing in Braille to developing digital science tools and creating cartoons for thousands of followers.
The students attend schools across Bahrain and are being featured as part of the Education Ministry’s "Our Students Inspiring Stories" campaign, which highlights their talents and achievements.
Fahad Abdulla Al Arabi, a visually impaired pupil at Al Khawarizmi Primary Boys School, has written four stories in Braille and donated them to his school library.
After his computer teacher invited him to teach his classmates, Fahad delivered two workshops covering correct typing and keyboard shortcuts. The sessions were attended by all third and fourth-year pupils at the school.
He also presents a morning assembly segment titled "Our Speaking Thoughts" and holds the school’s times tables champion title.
At Al Istiqlal Secondary Girls School, Samar Mohammed Abdulaleem has developed digital tools aimed at making learning more interactive.
She created a digital learning platform called Math Zone, which links mathematical concepts to daily life, as well as a Virtual Laboratories channel featuring simulated science experiments. She has also delivered teaching workshops through educational platforms in the UAE and Kuwait.
Samar’s environmental projects have also earned recognition. Green Fuel, which produces biodiesel from jojoba, and Carbon Block each won second place in the Future Scientists competition, in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Her Green Carbon project also reached the top 10 at last year’s agricultural exhibition.
At Al Qudaibiya Primary Intermediate Boys School, Ali Yousif Tarada taught himself to design and animate cartoon characters while overcoming learning difficulties.
Five years after launching his YouTube channel, Ali has published close to 500 short videos and attracted around 6,000 followers.
"When I draw my cartoon characters, I feel I am speaking to the world in a language that needs no words," he said.
"My channel is how I prove that my dreams have no limits, and that my talent is stronger than any challenge."
