Malaysia Hails Bahrain F1 Partnership

Malaysia’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Shazryll Zahiran, described the decision to host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit as a symbol of the strong friendship and strategic partnership between Bahrain and Malaysia.
The ambassador said the initiative reflects the close ties between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim of Malaysia, as well as the strong cooperation between both governments. He added that it also demonstrates Bahrain’s confidence in Malaysia’s ability to host a world-class sporting event.
He said the partnership, together with Gulf Air’s planned direct flights between Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur, would strengthen tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people ties while reinforcing cooperation during a period of regional challenges.
