HM King’s Message Delivered to Syria

Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, visited Syria carrying a personal letter from HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to President Ahmed al-Sharaa, alongside greetings from HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad. The visit underscored Bahrain’s continued support for Syria’s stability amid ongoing regional turbulence.
Meeting Syrian Minister of Interior Anas Khattab, the minister praised Syrian security forces’ role in stabilising the country and affirmed Bahrain’s firm backing of Syria’s leadership. Both sides reviewed regional and international developments and agreed to deepen security coordination and intelligence-sharing.
The minister also met Emergency Minister Raed Al Saleh, signing a memorandum of understanding on disaster risk reduction and civil protection. This covers training, field visits and reconstruction support—reinforcing Syria’s capacity to manage crises as the region navigates continued instability.
