Ministry of Justice Introduces Instant Electronic Payment System

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has launched a new electronic payment service for enforcement claims and monthly maintenance payments in collaboration with Benefit Company, as part of efforts to modernise public services and advance digital transformation.

The new system enables instant electronic settlement of payments related to enforcement cases, reducing processing time from three working days to real-time transactions. It also cuts the number of required documents by half, streamlines procedures into no more than four steps, and introduces an improved digital interface to enhance user experience.

Sabah Tariq Adhbi Al Jalahma, Director of the Judicial Accounts Directorate at the ministry, said the platform allows individuals, companies, and organisations subject to civil and Sharia enforcement rulings to complete payments electronically through the application, with funds transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts using IBAN details.

She added that the system ensures automatic distribution of payments among creditors according to the legally defined priority order.

Shafaq Al Kooheji, Assistant General Manager of Payment Services at Benefit Company, said the initiative reflects the growing importance of digital payment solutions in improving government services by making transactions faster, simpler, and more secure, while supporting Bahrain’s broader digital transformation goals.
