Public Prosecution Reviews Child Visitation Procedures

As part of the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Public Prosecution and the Ministry of Social Development regarding the enforcement of Sharia court rulings on child visitation and custody, Ms. Noora Jamal Al Maalla, Head of the Family and Child Prosecution, accompanied by a delegation from the Public Prosecution, conducted a field visit to the Abdullah bin Yusuf Fakhro Social Centre, which operates under the Ministry of Social Development.
The delegation was received by Mr. Ebrahim Ahmed Al Fadhala, Director of Social Welfare, and Ms. Sadeem Al Meer, Head of the Family Guidance Section. During the visit, both sides reviewed the mechanisms for implementing court rulings related to visitation and custody and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two entities.
The visit included a tour of the centre's facilities, where the delegation was briefed on the procedures followed in implementing visitation orders both inside and outside the centre, as well as the process for handing over and receiving children in a manner that ensures smooth operations and achieves the objectives of enforcement.
Specialists at the centre also explained the workflow, beginning with receiving the parties and preparing children psychologically and socially before the visit, followed by implementation and follow-up procedures, and concluding with documenting visits and recording observations. These measures help provide a safe and stable environment that takes into account the child's psychological and social well-being.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Head of the Family and Child Prosecution expressed her appreciation to the specialists at the Ministry of Social Development for their warm reception and for their dedicated professional and humanitarian efforts to protect children and safeguard their rights. She emphasized that continued cooperation and coordination among the relevant authorities is essential to developing the implementation system for court rulings and ensuring that the best interests of the child are always upheld.
