Bahrain Raises Iran Concerns During Meeting With Russian Envoy

Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met Russia’s ambassador to Bahrain, Dr Alexey Skosyrev, in Manama to discuss bilateral relations and regional security developments.
The meeting, held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, reviewed the growing cooperation and friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation across several sectors. Both sides also explored ways to further strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in areas serving the shared interests of the two countries.
Regional developments were also discussed during the talks, including continuing Iranian attacks targeting the kingdom and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, as described by Bahrain.
The discussions additionally addressed the implications of Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime navigation, alongside ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions and maintain security and stability across the Gulf.
The two sides also reviewed prospects for joint coordination and cooperation at the United Nations Security Council, where both Bahrain and Russia hold membership.
