For some, art is a way of giving back. For others, it is reflection, healing, or a connection to something larger than themselves.

 At the ongoing “The Open Palette” art exhibition at Oasis Mall, Juffair, artists from across generations and backgrounds spoke to The Daily Tribune about the ideas behind their works. Each piece is shaped by memory, culture, and lived experience, echoing a shared sense of unity and a collective love for Bahrain.

For 11-year-old Zamrin, inclusivity and gratitude are at the heart of her artwork. “I drew this as a tribute to Bahrain, as it has given me a home and a safe place to live. It is also meant to encourage all talented young artists to showcase their work,” she said, alongside her mother, Dr. Sunila, a renowned artist herself. 

Dr. Sunila’s work reflects gratitude and protection, inspired by her experience in Bahrain. Her piece depicts a mother and son symbolizing sacrifice and inner strength. “It represents courage, care, and the sense of safety we felt here,” she said.
