ASU Hosts Global Tech Meet

Applied Science University is set to host the International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Sustainability and Intelligent Systems (ICETSIS 2026) on 6–7 May 2026, bringing together a distinguished and multidisciplinary international community of academics, researchers, and industry experts from around the world.

This upcoming edition builds on the success of the inaugural conference held on 2022, further establishing ICETSIS as a high-level scientific platform for knowledge exchange and the presentation of cutting-edge research in emerging technologies, intelligent systems, and sustainable development.

The conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary academic platform that enables researchers to exchange expertise and explore the latest innovations and future trends. Key focus areas will include artificial intelligence and its applications in information systems and data science, communication and network technologies, digital learning, financial technologies, as well as innovation in architecture and civil engineering to support sustainability-driven solutions.

ICETSIS 2026 is expected to witness strong international engagement, with participation from over 1,000 researchers representing more than 30 countries. This reflects both the high scientific quality of the conference and the growing global interest in its thematic areas. The geographical distribution of contributors highlights a truly global reach, with the majority of contributions originating from the Asia-Pacific region, followed by Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The conference will feature a rigorous peer-review process overseen by the Technical Program Committee and supported by a wide network of international reviewers. This ensures the selection of high-quality research contributions and reinforces the academic integrity and credibility of the conference.

This year’s conference will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual participation, thereby maximising international accessibility and fostering cross-border scientific collaboration.

On this occasion, Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasised that hosting this international conference reflects the University’s vision to promote innovation and strengthen the role of research in serving society. He noted that “the University is committed to providing a stimulating academic environment that supports knowledge creation and the development of sustainable solutions to global challenges, in alignment with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ambitious development vision.”

For his part, Professor Hatem Masri, President of the University, highlighted the strategic importance of the conference in strengthening international academic partnerships. He stated that “organising this scientific event demonstrates the University’s commitment to keeping pace with rapid developments in emerging technologies, while providing an interactive platform for knowledge exchange and building collaborative networks among researchers worldwide.”

It is worth noting that the conference proceedings will be published in globally recognised indexing platforms such as IEEE Xplore, further enhancing the visibility, impact, and academic value of the research presented.
