‘Vaccines Work for All Generations’

The Ministry of Health officially launched World Immunization Week under the theme “Vaccines Work for All Generations,” aiming to strengthen public awareness about the importance of vaccinations in preventing disease and protecting community health.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health. Officials highlighted Bahrain’s continued progress in building a strong preventive healthcare system, supported by national leadership and aligned with international standards.
The country has achieved high immunization coverage rates and successfully limited the spread of infectious diseases.
The Minister of Health also noted a major milestone: Bahrain was certified free of endemic measles and rubella in December 2025 by the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.
The Kingdom continues to maintain high childhood vaccination rates, reflecting the effectiveness and sustainability of its public health programs.
