Bahrain Customs Chief Meets Italian Ambassador to Boost Cooperation
Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs in Bahrain, held talks with Andrea Catalano to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in the customs sector, particularly following recent developments linked to the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), where Bahrain aims to expand its strategic role.
Both sides also reviewed opportunities to deepen cooperation in customs and logistics under existing agreements, which have already led to the formation of a joint working group and exchange of specialised delegations.
Discussions highlighted the importance of improving efficiency in customs operations, boosting technological cooperation, facilitating trade, and enhancing the security of ports.
The two officials stressed the need for continued coordination and knowledge sharing to support mutual interests and further strengthen relations between Bahrain and Italy.
