Through the Night, They Keep the Streets Moving

As rainwater gathers on roads and quietly begins to slow life down, teams are already in motion. Long before complaints are made, and often long after most lights go out, they remain on the ground, clearing paths, restoring movement and keeping neighbourhoods safe.
Response
Engineer Saleh Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Trustees Board, confirmed that the Capital Municipality activated its rain emergency team, made up of 45 personnel, to respond to reports and deal with rainwater accumulation during the recent weather conditions.
The operation forms part of a comprehensive plan covering 25 blocks across the Capital, with teams working around the clock to ensure rapid response and minimise disruption.
Ground
Speaking during a phone intervention on Bahrain Television’s News Centre, Tarada explained that the efforts fall within a wider operational framework developed by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture in coordination with municipal councils, which the Ministry updates annually in preparation for the rainy season.
He stressed that the work is carried out with strong team spirit and high field efficiency, reflecting readiness to respond to emergency situations as they unfold.
Movement
Teams deployed across several areas including Sitra, Tubli, Manama and Juffair, monitored locations where rainwater tends to accumulate and intervened immediately when needed.
Water tankers were dispatched to affected sites, and pumps were placed in areas with poor drainage or limited infrastructure. This ensures roads remain accessible and daily life continues with minimal disruption.
For some, even a few minutes saved on a flooded road can mean getting home safely to their families.
Effort
Tarada noted that teams operated day and night, maintaining continuous presence across streets and residential areas, responding to reports and working to keep traffic flowing safely.
Behind each cleared road is a coordinated effort, and behind each effort are individuals working in demanding conditions, focused on one goal, keeping the city moving.
People
For residents, the difference is immediate. A cleared street. A safer journey. A smoother way home.
In Bahrain, where daily life depends on movement and access, the work may not always be seen, but it is always felt.
