The Cooperation Committee between the Capital Trustees Board, municipal councils, and government entities held its regular meeting, chaired by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant government entities and heads of municipal councils.

The Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between government bodies, the Capital Trustees Board, and municipal councils. He stressed that integrated efforts are essential to implementing more service and development projects that meet national goals and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents.

He praised the vital role played by municipal councils and the Capital Trustees Board in supporting development and construction efforts. He also emphasised the importance of maintaining continuous communication to ensure projects and services are implemented according to approved plans and programmes.

The Minister further underscored the need to adopt innovative initiatives and to discuss proposals and ideas presented by municipal councils with relevant authorities. Such collaboration, he said, helps in reaching decisions and recommendations that serve the community and achieve the public interest.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture presented an overview of Sustainability Week, the “Our Town is More Beautiful” initiative, and the Smart Cities Conference.

The Ministry of Works reviewed road and sewage projects in the Southern Governorate, while the Ministry of Education outlined its plan for the construction and maintenance of schools.
