The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has announced that the Sharia Moon Sighting Committee will convene on Tuesday evening, corresponding to the night of Wednesday, 29 Sha’ban 1447 AH, or February 17, 2026, to receive reports and testimonies regarding the sighting of the crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The session will be held at the council’s headquarters, where the committee will review local sightings from within Bahrain, as well as confirmed reports from across the Islamic world verifying the commencement of the blessed month.
In a statement, the council called on anyone who has witnessed the crescent or has credible information regarding its sighting to promptly contact the Sharia Moon Sighting Committee to report their testimony, expressing appreciation for their cooperation in this important religious observance.
