Bahrain set to participate in 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos

On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Court of the Prime Minister, will lead a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, scheduled from January 19 to 23.
The Kingdom’s delegation includes prominent government and private sector officials: His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company; H.E. Noor bint Ali Al Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board; H.E. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company; Hamad Al Mahmeed, Director General of the Office of the Prime Minister; Yousef Buhejji, Undersecretary for Research and Projects at the Office of the Prime Minister; Sarah Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority; Ian Lindsay, Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Board; Khalid Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group; along with representatives from the public and private sectors.
The forum, under the theme “Spirit of Dialogue,” will gather over 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries, including global leaders, government officials, executives of multinational corporations, innovators, academics, and civil society representatives.
Challenges
Discussions will focus on global economic challenges amid ongoing geopolitical, economic, and social transformations.
Bahrain’s delegation will engage in high-level sessions, panel discussions, and meetings with global decision-makers, investors, and industry leaders.
These engagements will highlight the Kingdom’s strategic priorities, including sustainable economic growth, economic diversification, talent development, fostering innovation, and reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a competitive investment hub.
The WEF provides a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives to address global challenges.
Cooperation
This year’s program emphasizes cooperation across governments, businesses, and civil society, exploring new drivers of economic growth and promoting dialogue to respond to rising global competition.
Key themes at this year’s forum include harnessing innovation to drive growth, enhancing workforce readiness amid technological and demographic shifts, developing artificial intelligence strategies to support innovation, and investing in sustainable environments.
