Manama: Jasim Mohammed Abdulrasool Al Eskafi has expressed heartfelt gratitude to a passer-by and a traffic police officer whose swift actions saved his life after he suffered a sudden medical emergency while driving in the Capital Governorate.

Al Eskafi extended special thanks to Abdulrahman Badr Al Saeed and traffic police officer Abdulwahab Ahmed Al Sheikh, praising their courage, professionalism and humanity in preventing a serious traffic accident and ensuring his safety. He said he was thankful to God for his recovery and for being able to return safely to his family, including his children Mohammed and Narjis.

Recounting the incident, Al Eskafi said he began feeling severe exhaustion while driving home from work along King Faisal Highway near The Avenues Mall. He gradually lost awareness and found it increasingly difficult to control his vehicle or stop to seek help. As the car swerved, other motorists began honking, while he remained largely unaware of his surroundings.

The situation continued until the vehicle reached Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway near the Qadam area. Al Eskafi said he does not recall how he arrived there or how the car eventually stopped, only regaining awareness when a young man opened the door and called his name, which was written on his shirt.

According to Al Eskafi, Abdulrahman Al Saeed helped him regain consciousness, provided water, washed his face and stayed with him until National Ambulance services arrived and administered first aid. He has since fully recovered and returned home.

Al Eskafi described Abdulrahman Al Saeed as a hero who risked his own safety to stop the vehicle and avert a potentially major accident, calling his actions a blessing and a second chance at life. He also praised traffic police officer Abdulwahab Ahmed Al Sheikh for his rapid response, securing the road, protecting other motorists and managing the scene until emergency services arrived.

He stressed that words alone were not enough to convey his appreciation to those who intervened, saying their actions reflected the highest values of compassion and public service.
