The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has reported that the “Hawa Al Manama” event is witnessing strong turnout in its current edition, with attendance this week exceeding more than double the number of visitors recorded during its first edition last year.

This reflects the growing popularity of the event among citizens, residents and visitors, as well as the diverse cultural and tourism experiences it offers.

Her Excellency Sara Ahmed Buhejji, Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, noted that the expansion of the event’s footprint has helped attract a larger number of participants, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to drawing innovative Bahraini projects.

This has allowed for a wider variety of experiences and activities to be offered, catering to the expectations of visitors of different age groups and interests. She added that this expansion has had a positive impact on the growth in footfall at Manama Souq, with increased visitor and customer movement in commercial outlets, highlighting the market’s status as a tourism and commercial destination.

This is especially evident with the current edition’s focus on showcasing the cultural and heritage dimension of the capital, Manama.

She also confirmed that the accompanying events and guided tours held in Manama Souq have seen notable turnout, given the distinctive interactive experience they provide.

The “Hawa Al Manama” event will continue until Thursday, January 15, 2026.

It recreates aspects of daily life in the old souq and sheds light on the social and cultural transformations.
