Public Prosecution Reviews Equal Opportunities Plan for 2025–2026

The Equal Opportunities Committee at the Public Prosecution held its fourth regular meeting of 2025, chaired by First Advocate General Counselor Haroon Osman Al Zayani, Head of the Technical Office of the Public Prosecutor.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed progress on the action plan for 2025–2026, which is designed to ensure full equality, provide a fair working environment, and enable staff members to demonstrate their skills and capabilities. The plan also focuses on promoting equal opportunities among Public Prosecution employees, supporting women, and providing them with the necessary assistance.

The committee also discussed preparations for new Public Prosecution initiatives announced during the Bahraini Women in the Judicial and Legal Field Forum, titled “Excellence – Innovation – Creativity”, held last November to mark Bahraini Women’s Day. These initiatives are set to be launched soon and implemented throughout 2026.

Among the key initiatives are the launch of a legal research competition, in cooperation with the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, to highlight legislation related to women’s rights, and the organization of a Gulf forum on March 10 to mark the International Day of Women Judges, showcasing women’s achievements in the judicial system. Additional events will be held to highlight these achievements, track the development of women’s role in the field, and introduce female law students to judicial work while strengthening their understanding of the profession.

The committee also reviewed arrangements to continue training programs for members and staff of the Public Prosecution, in line with the institution’s approved training plan.
