HH Shaikh Khalid Welcomes Over 70 Countries to Camel Federation Meeting

The General Assembly meeting of the International Camel Federation was held on Saturday at The Art Hotel & Resort in Amwaj Islands, Muharraq, Bahrain. The meeting was chaired by Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and attended by senior officials, distinguished guests, and representatives from more than 70 countries.

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, expressed pride in Bahrain hosting the event. He highlighted the Kingdom’s role in promoting international sports and preserving cultural heritage.

Shaikh Khalid praised Prince Fahd bin Jalawi’s leadership in developing camel sports while maintaining their cultural significance and enhancing their global presence. He noted that camel racing is no longer just a sport, but a bridge for cultural exchange and a platform to strengthen shared values among nations.

Shaikh Khalid hoped the meeting would produce decisions supporting the Federation’s growth and the development of camel competitions at regional and international levels. He also wished all guests a pleasant stay in Bahrain and a productive assembly.
