AMAI Launches Bahrain Chapter with High Turnout and New Leadership

The Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) officially marked its presence in the Kingdom with the successful inaugural meeting of its Bahrain Chapter. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the medical community and their families, signaling a robust start for the professional body.
The chapter was formally inaugurated by Prof. Fatima Al Mansoori, a distinguished Bahraini academician and healthcare professional. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Binu J. Abraham, Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee, who welcomed a gathering of 45 Ayurveda doctors for the inaugural General Body Meeting.
During the session, the association unanimously elected its new Executive Committee to lead the chapter’s future initiatives. Dr. Binu J. Abraham was elected as President, joined by Dr. A.M. Ajumal as Secretary and Dr. Prashobh K.P. as Treasurer.
In a move to strengthen specialized representation, a Women’s Committee was also established. Dr. Athulya Unnikrishnan will lead the wing as Chairperson, supported by Dr. Devi Muralidas as Convenor. The formation of the Bahrain Chapter represents a significant milestone in promoting the standards of Ayurvedic medicine and fostering professional unity within the region.
