Committee on banning chemical weapons formed

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued Edict (78) of 2025 regarding the formation of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction, based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and following the approval of the Cabinet.
A committee named the “The National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction”, referred to in this edict as “the Committee”, shall be formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Membership in the Committee shall be for a term of four years, renewable for similar terms. Should any member’s seat become vacant, a representative from the same entity shall be nominated to complete the remaining term.
