Bahrain takes part in Arab Parliament committee meeting in Cairo
Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda, Deputy Head of the Shura Council’s Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee and member of the Arab Parliament’s Committee on Foreign, Political, and Security Affairs, represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the committee’s meeting held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The session reviewed major political and security developments across the Arab region, discussed ways to enhance coordination on regional issues, and approved the committee’s work plan for the 2025–2026 term.
Al Maawda affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening Arab national security, fostering regional stability, and supporting peace and international cooperation. He praised the Arab Parliament’s efforts to follow up on regional developments and unify Arab stances at regional and international levels.
He emphasized that Bahrain’s foreign policy is rooted in dialogue, coexistence, and the belief that stability is the foundation of development and prosperity. The Kingdom, he said, continues to promote Arab and Islamic unity through peaceful approaches and collective action.
Al Maawda further noted that preserving Arab national security requires stronger coordination, unified political will, and parliamentary collaboration to resolve conflicts peacefully. He added that comprehensive Arab security encompasses safeguarding national resources, advancing development, and tackling the political, security, and economic challenges facing the region.
Highlighting Bahrain’s parliamentary role, he underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation among Arab and Islamic legislatures to promote dialogue, understanding, and solidarity on key issues—particularly the Palestinian cause.
He reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its continued commitment to delivering humanitarian aid to alleviate their suffering.
Al Maawda concluded by stressing that achieving a just and lasting peace remains essential to ensuring Arab security and long-term regional stability.
