The Embassy of India in Bahrain organised the Indian University & ITEC Alumni Meet and Technology Conclave 2025 on October 12, bringing together over 70 participants to celebrate shared learning, vibrant connections and collaborative growth.
The event also commemorated 54 years of diplomatic relations between India and Bahrain.
The gathering featured prominent speakers, including His Excellency Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain; H.E. Abdulnabi Al Shoala, Member of the Shura Council; Dr. Abdulhassan Al Dairi, Chairman of the Bahrain Small & Medium Enterprises Society; and Dr. Jassim Haji, a leading AI expert and technology thought leader in the region.
In his address, H.E. Ambassador Jacob lauded Indian universities and ITEC alumni for their significant contributions to strengthening India-Bahrain ties.
He also highlighted India’s remarkable strides in fields such as engineering, medicine, space, and cybersecurity.
H.E. Al Shoala praised Indian alumni as goodwill ambassadors and briefed attendees on the wide-ranging benefits of ITEC courses, which have positively impacted participants around the globe.
H.E. Dr. Al Dairi emphasised the influence that Indian-educated professionals have had across Bahraini society, shaping innovation and professional expertise.
A major highlight of the event was the Technology Conclave 2025, featuring a presentation by Dr. Haji, President of the Artificial Intelligence Society and the Global Artificial Intelligence Group.
Dr. Haji elaborated on the evolution and latest developments in AI technologies, offering insights into the future of digital innovation in the Gulf region.
The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from CBSE school students, who showcased creative tech and AI working models, demonstrating collaboration, innovation, and future-ready learning.
Visitors actively engaged with the exhibits, sparking curiosity and stimulating conversations on emerging technologies.
Since 2009, nearly 100 candidates from Bahrain have participated in ITEC courses, while a significant number of Bahraini nationals have pursued higher education at Indian universities over the decades.
