HRH Advances Bahrain’s Green Vision with Irrigation Challenge

As part of this year’s National Tree Week, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the launch of the Innovation Competition in Irrigation Solutions to enhance the use of treated water in agriculture and afforestation.

Marking the occasion, His Royal Highness planted a new tree and watered the one he planted during last year’s NTW launch.

The competition supports Bahrain’s sustainability goals, encouraging innovative methods to expand irrigation networks and preserve the environment, in line with the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness directed relevant authorities to implement the winning solution and highlighted the importance of National Tree Week in promoting environmental awareness and expanding green spaces.

He reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and strengthening its position as a model for sustainable development.

Also present were HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, and HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
