Bahrain’s eighth straight Tier 1 ranking in the U.S. State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Report has prompted MP Dr Maryam Al-Dhaen to call the recognition both a global endorsement and a national responsibility.
She said the ranking affirms international confidence in Bahrain’s system for safeguarding rights and dignity, describing it as “an integrated framework of prevention, protection, and justice.”
Al-Dhaen noted that Bahrain’s rights model includes the region’s first Labour Protection Centre for expatriate workers, the National Referral System for victims, the Wage Protection System, and specialised prosecution, court, and victims’ fund. She credited the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for embedding human dignity at the core of national policy.
The MP said the milestone “is not an endpoint but a renewed national duty” to keep Bahrain at the forefront of justice and human rights.
