BKS Navaratri celebrations begins today

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) is set to host its annual Navaratri Celebrations, a three-day cultural festival beginning today. The announcement was made jointly by the BKS President, P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai, and General Secretary, Varghese Karakkel.
The festivities will officially commence at 8:00 PM with a traditional Dance and Music Archana (offering).
This inaugural event will feature students performing under the guidance of several distinguished dance and music instructors.
The highlight of the celebrations will take place on Wednesday, October 1, at 8:00 PM in the Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall.
Award
During this event, the prestigious BKS Kalakendra Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred upon renowned Malayalam music director and actor, Vidyadharan Master.
He is being honoured for his comprehensive contributions to Malayalam cinema and musical landscape.
The award ceremony will be followed by a special musical night, dedicated exclusively to performing songs composed and set to tune by Vidyadharan Master.
The event will be graced by several high-profile chief guests, including Justice Devan Ramachandran of the Kerala High Court, Cultural Department Secretary Dr. Divya S. Iyer, and K. Sabarinathan.
The celebrations will culminate on Thursday, October 2, marking the auspicious day of Vijayadashami.
The sacred Vidyarambham ceremony — the ritualistic initiation of children into the world of education — will begin early in the morning at 5:00 AM. Chief Guest Dr. Divya S. Iyer will lead the ceremony, guiding young children in writing their first letters (Adyaksharam).
