The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in cooperation with the College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain (UoB), organised the Urban Design Competition, with the evaluation of student projects now underway under the supervision of the university’s specialised committee.
The competition focuses on the design of several of RHF’s future development projects.
Participating students presented their design models before the judging panel, based on several key criteria, including the creation of a multifunctional space that fosters social cohesion within the urban fabric, while emphasizing social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and accessibility.
Efforts Ammar Sami Qambar, Humanitarian Affairs Advisor and Acting Director of Planning and Development at RHF, emphasised that the Urban Design Competition is part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote community engagement and empower youth to use their creative and academic skills in serving society.
He noted that the competition enables students to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in cooperation with professional and academic institutions.
