U.S. Ambassador to Bahrain Steven C. Bondy has hailed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), saying it has opened possibilities for even stronger cooperation.
He was speaking on the occasion of the second anniversary of the U.S.-Bahrain signing of C-SIPA.
In a statement to The Daily Tribune, the Ambassador said:
“Two years ago, the United States and Bahrain signed the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), elevating our partnership to new heights. Since then, we have deepened cooperation in the agreement’s three pillars – defense and security, trade and economy, and science and technology – demonstrating the breadth and strength of this vital relationship.”
He added that the deal, which has now expanded to include the United Kingdom, has proven even stronger. “This year, during His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s historic July visit to Washington, the agreement expanded to include the United Kingdom, opening possibilities for even stronger cooperation to build a more secure, prosperous, and interconnected future for our peoples and the region.”
