What Sparked the Massive Fire in a Salmaniya Home?
A large fire broke out Friday afternoon in a home in the Salmaniya area. The fire spread quickly before the civil defense could control it.
A family member said the fire started from a spark in a split air-conditioning unit in one of the rooms. Flames spread fast and engulfed the house.
The head of the household tried to put out the fire with a home fire extinguisher, but it grew too strong. The family and their domestic helper had to leave quickly, leaving all their belongings behind, and went to a neighbor’s house.
Seven people live in the house, and no one was injured.
Witnesses said neighbors helped the family, and five civil defense fire trucks arrived quickly to stop the fire from spreading. The flames were so strong that glass broke and fell into the street.
Civil defense teams have started investigating the cause of the fire.
