Two Men to Face Trial for Exploiting Teen Girl Online

The Public Prosecution has referred two men to court after they were accused of exploiting a 16-year-old girl through social media.

According to the Child and Family Prosecution, the case began when the Ministry of Interior’s Cyber Child Protection Unit reported that the girl had been deceived by the suspects, who promised marriage in order to gain her trust. She was then pressured into sending them inappropriate photos.

Prosecutors questioned the victim and confronted the two suspects with the evidence. Both admitted to the charges, and the case has now been transferred to the Third Minor Criminal Court, with the first hearing scheduled for September 9, 2025.

The head of the Child and Family Prosecution stressed the importance of protecting young girls from falling prey to false promises online. She urged teenagers not to be misled by deceptive words and illusions, while also calling on parents to maintain close supervision over their children’s online interactions to shield them from exploitation and harmful behavior.
