The Sharifa Al Awadhi Children and Youth Club, under the Ministry of Social Development, has wrapped up its annual summer program after a month filled with educational and recreational activities. The program brought together 1,280 participants of different age groups through 39 diverse activities in sports, science, arts, and cultural awareness.
Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development at the Ministry, Enas Mohammed Al-Majed, said the large turnout reflects Bahraini families’ trust in the programs offered. She explained that the initiative aimed to help children and youth develop their personalities, gain life skills, and nurture talents in a structured way aligned with the ministry’s strategy.
Al-Majed praised the efforts of 50 national volunteers who played a vital role in running the workshops and ensuring the program’s success, describing volunteerism as a cornerstone in supporting developmental initiatives. She also thanked parents for encouraging their children to join, stressing that family support was crucial in discovering and developing young talents.
She added that the ministry is committed to expanding and improving the program each year by building partnerships with educational, sports, and cultural institutions, creating a stronger platform to foster creativity, positive values, and community engagement among young Bahrainis.
The program included a wide range of workshops such as modern technology, handicrafts, theater arts, sports, and awareness sessions, all designed to instill creativity, teamwork, and positive behavior.
