Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has urged residents to stay alert as thunderstorms and the risk of flooding continue across several regions until next Wednesday. People are being advised to stay away from valleys, flood channels, and low-lying areas, and to avoid swimming in them during the unstable weather.
The Mecca region, including Mecca city and nearby areas such as Taif, Al Laith, Al Qunfudhah, and Ranyah, is expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall. Weather officials warn that the downpours could trigger flash floods, hail, and strong winds that may stir up dust and sand.
Similar stormy conditions are forecast in the southern regions of Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Najran. Meanwhile, parts of Riyadh and Madinah are likely to experience lighter but steady showers.
Civil Defense has called on the public to follow official weather updates and take safety precautions as the stormy weather moves across the Kingdom.
