Smith, Woodrow bag Golf series
Ronan Smith and playing partner Sebastian Woodrow (13 points) won the overall order of merit of the six week long Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club finishing a point clear of runners-up Mohamed Akeel and Iftikhar Butt (12 on count back) after a dramatic final round.
Ali Al Kowari and Yusuf Janahi (12) finished third overall after losing out on countback.
The final competition of the series was played in the two player betterball stableford format with Smith and Woodrow (23 points) winning first place which was enough on the night to seal victory and win the order of merit series.
Akeel and Butt (23 on count back) came very close to winning the order of merit but were runners up, while the pairing of Al Kowari and Janahi (22) were third.
Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Rob Lane and Saud Al Sharif respectively.
Porsche branded tees and flags adorned the golf course and a Porsche ‘Cayenne S’ and Porsche ‘Macan Turbo’ were displayed on the course for the duration of the competition.
The series was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Club’s Members’ Lounge where Taher Ali the Marketing Manager for Porsche Centre Bahrain was on hand to present the prizes.
The nine-hole Monday series are also open to non-members and tee off with a 6:30pm shotgun start.
