Deputy Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, praised the ongoing support of His Excellency General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for initiatives that empower Bahraini women — particularly within the security and public service sectors of the ministry.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening national efforts to meet the needs of Bahraini women during humanitarian situations, underlining the ministry’s commitment to building a safer and more compassionate society.

As part of this vision, the Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to unify and enhance national support mechanisms for women facing difficult social or economic circumstances. This MoU reflects the directives of the Minister to adopt impactful and community-focused projects.

Among the initiatives highlighted by the Deputy Minister is the "Faael Khair" (Good Samaritan) program, run by the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing. This initiative, alongside Family and Child Protection Offices in governorates and unified procedures for handling sensitive cases, provides essential humanitarian support. The Ministry’s various departments — including governorates and community police — continue to play a vital role in offering social assistance and reinforcing public safety.

The new initiative, born from the MoU, aims to create a structured and unified approach to addressing the needs of women in humanitarian situations. It comes at a time when rising social challenges require stronger community collaboration to uphold the role of the family and preserve social cohesion.

Lieutenant General Al Fadhel also stressed the importance of community awareness programs and national loyalty-building initiatives. He highlighted the need for cooperation between government bodies, private institutions, and civil society to protect and stabilize Bahraini families.

He also noted the work of the Community Police, which continues to provide security support and social care for all segments of society.

It’s worth mentioning that the MoU follows a series of consultative meetings involving key national bodies, including the Supreme Council for Women, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Social Development, and the Royal Humanitarian Foundation.

The agreement aims to coordinate and invest in the services provided by these institutions, offering financial and in-kind support to Bahraini women facing social or economic hardships.
