As the new school year approaches, shops and markets across Bahrain are already buzzing with back-to-school preparations. Promotional sales have kicked off in several stores, offering everything from backpacks and shoes to stationery and school uniforms for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Store owners say that the back-to-school season always brings a surge in shopping activity. This year, preparations started earlier, with stores launching special promotions and stocking a diverse selection of items to meet the needs of families. Discounts currently range between 10% and 50% on selected school supplies, and foot traffic is expected to rise in the coming weeks.

Adel Abdulnabi, General Manager of “Day to Day Discount Center,” said that families usually start shopping in early August to avoid the last-minute rush. He explained that the center offers all the essentials, including notebooks, bags, pens, uniforms, and school-related accessories.

Abdulnabi also highlighted a new “Back-to-School Coupon Campaign,” which includes prize draws for cars starting August 5. He added that a new branch in Hamad Town will open to coincide with the busy shopping season. Despite rising shipping costs and global inflation, he assured that prices remain stable, with affordable deals designed to ease the burden on families.

Ahmed Al-Mutawalli, a supervisor at Ansar Gallery, said that shopping activity has already begun, with the store fully stocked on bags, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other supplies. Discounts of up to 10% are available, with some items priced as low as 900 fils. He noted that the store prepares months in advance, importing goods one to two months early to ensure smooth availability throughout the season.
