The Ministry of Works has announced the successful completion of the infrastructure development project in Block 324, Juffair.
The project forms part of the government’s comprehensive plan to upgrade internal areas in line with ongoing urban expansion in the region.
According to the Ministry, the project encompassed the construction of a new sewage network, including a pumping station, and the connection of all relevant facilities within the project area.
It also included extensive road development, installation of an irrigation network, and the reconstruction of 22nd Street along with several surrounding roads — spanning a total length of three kilometers.
Additional supporting infrastructure works were also completed.
Sewage network
The Ministry confirmed that residential properties in the area have now been fully connected to the sewage network.
This follows the earlier completion of the main sewage pipeline linking Juffair to Ghuraifa. The new pipeline was designed to be larger and deeper, significantly increasing capacity to accommodate current and future wastewater flows from both Juffair and Ghuraifa.
Strategic importance
Officials emphasised the strategic importance of the project, particularly in light of Juffair’s status as a key investment and tourism hub within Manama.
The upgraded infrastructure is expected to benefit residents and visitors alike, offering improved traffic flow, better accessibility, and the addition of new parking spaces.
The Ministry noted that the project was implemented by Downtown Group, following its selection by the Tender Board.
