In preparation for the upcoming Ashoora commemoration, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, held the annual coordination meeting with the heads and officials of Maatams (community religious centers) from across Bahrain’s governorates.
Held at the Police Officers Club, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of Public Security, and the Kingdom’s governors, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to community partnership and inter-agency coordination ahead of the important religious event.
“This meeting reflects the spirit of national unity and shared responsibility that characterizes our society, especially during sensitive times,” said the H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah.
In his address, the Interior Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also extended appreciation to the Minister of Justice and the Head of the Jaafari Waqf Directorate for their support in Ashoora preparations.
Acknowledging current regional tensions, H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah warned of potential security implications and called for heightened caution and solidarity.
While noting that regional stability is gradually returning through diplomatic efforts, he stressed the need for vigilance and social unity.
“There is no space for voices that seek to divide us,” he said. “Individuals must not exploit social media to spread discord.”
