A dental assistant caught working without a licence has led to the closure of a clinic, following an order by the Public Prosecution.
The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) carried out the closure and seized medical tools, equipment, and medication linked to the case.
Breach
The woman had been carrying out dental procedures without the required approval from the Authority, in breach of the law covering allied health jobs for those who are not doctors or pharmacists.
Regulators filed the case and passed it to the Ministries Prosecution. It then went before the court, which ordered the clinic closed and everything on site confiscated.
The Authority said it would keep enforcing the rules to make sure those in the health sector meet proper standards and patients are kept safe.
