Trial continued at the High Criminal Court of an Asian man accused of bludgeoning his roommate to death with a hammer and setting fire to their shared bedroom to cover his tracks.
He had previously confessed to the killing during questioning, but in court he claimed he acted in self-defence. The court has set 25 May to hear three witnesses. The Public Prosecution launched its investigation after receiving word from the Capital Governorate Police of a fire in a workers’ housing block in Tubli.
Inside one of the rooms, officers discovered the body of an Asian man with severe injuries to the head. Prosecutors arrived on site with a forensic pathologist.
