A Bahraini media professional has proudly raised the Kingdom’s flag on an international platform. Yasmin Mufeed represented Bahrain at the prestigious International Youth Media Leaders Program in the People’s Republic of China, part of the global ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.
Held over two weeks across Beijing and Nanchang, the event brought together media professionals from 35 countries to explore the role of journalism in promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Yasmin’s selection came through a nomination by the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain.
The programme included visits to China’s major media institutions such as Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group and the All-China Journalists Association.
Participants engaged in workshops and lectures focusing on how media fosters civilisational communication between nations.
In a significant honour, Yasmin was chosen to deliver the official opening speech on behalf of all participants at the programme’s inauguration ceremony in Beijing.
