SHILLA TRIUMPHS IN RICHEST RACE

Third favourite Shilla owned by Kumail A Jalil Al Mallah, trained by Jalil Al Mallah and ridden by Marco Monteriso won by a length for the richest race yesterday for the Al Salam Cup open to all classes of imported three year olds and upwards fillies and mares over 2,000 metres and worth BD5,000 in the 25th race and concluding meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

Second place went to an outsider Nellarbor Sky owned by Shaikh Sultan Aldeen bin Mohammed bin Salman, trained by Abbas Al Mowali and ridden by Gerald Avranche, followed in third a neck behind by Madame St Clair owned by Sarah Abdullah Al Kuwaiti, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Saleem Ghoolam.

Completing the top four a further two lengths behind was Wye Valley also owned by Sarah Abdullah Al Kuwait and trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Ali Al Saffar.
