Cleric’s verdict postponed to May 21

ManamaThe trial of religious cleric, Isa Qassim, was yesterday postponed to May 21 to announce the final verdict.

Qassim, who got his citizenship revoked last June for harming national security, is being prosecuted with others by the High Criminal Court for their involvement in illegal fundraising and money laundering. However, he did not show up at any of the trials.

He had four bank accounts exceeding BD5 million, according to a report submitted by Bahrain Central Bank to the court earlier this year. This is the second time that the verdict is postponed, after a similar announcement was made by the court last March.
