Ministry warns Bahrainis in countries affected by unrest

With the ongoing instability in many countries around the world, Foreign Affairs Ministry recently issued several warnings and instructions to Bahrainis abroad, considering their safety.

The Ministry warned of the ongoing unrest in Baltimore City in the United States, stating, “Foreign Affairs Ministry urges Bahraini citizens now in the US City of Baltimore, East Maryland, to take the necessary safety precautions and keep away from places of unrest, following the recent acts of turmoil and disorder.”

Writing in its official webpage and Twitter account, the Ministry urged Bahrainis in the riot-stricken city to “abide by the instructions issued by competent local authorities and to call Bahrain embassy on the following telephone numbers in the event of an emergency.”

Bahrain’s diplomatic mission to the United States could be reached on 0012026647666, 0012039932393 and 0012023421111 or on Twitter @BahInWashington.

The Ministry’s warnings also mentioned the recent natural disasters that occurred in south Asian countries such as Nepal, India and Pakistan.

Following the 5.5 magnitude that hit parts of Pakistan yesterday, “the Ministry urged Bahraini citizens in Pakistan to remain vigilant as the region is witnessing natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons.”

It called on them to abide by the instructions issued by local authorities and to call Bahrain embassy in the event of an emergency on 00923133355553, 00923346222222 or 0092512307882.

The Ministry also called upon all Bahraini travellers to register their information through the Ministry’s application (app), which provides contact details and location maps of Bahrain’s embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, as well as important announcements issued by the Ministry on emergency cases.

The Ministry added that it could be contacted around the clock on 0097317227555 and through its official Twitter page @bahdiplomatic.
